Aaron Edwards is a writer, story editor, and director working across audio, print, stage, and television. He was born and raised in Southside Jamaica, Queens and lives in the Hudson Valley.

He's produced and directed live storytelling shows at BAM and Lincoln Center with Pop-Up Magazine, edited special projects and longform at The Outline, made award-winning narrative podcasts, and has written for The New York Times and The Atlantic. He was the story editor of Unread, a 4-part narrative podcast named a Best of 2021 show by New York Magazine and The Guardian.

At MacDowell, Aaron worked on the pilot episode of a narrative podcast about close, intimate friendship and the ways people navigate change, evolutions of love, and circumstantial shifts in them. He also wrote the first draft of a TV pilot about a wayward angel on a journey to become an empathetic podcaster, using the prayers that cloud his mind as story leads.

Aaron Edwards worked in the Wood studio.

Wood Studio, given to the residency program by Mrs. Frederick Trevor Hill, was completed in 1913 in memory of Mrs. Hill’s mother, Helen Ogden Wood. Like Schelling Studio, the building is sided with large, overlapping pieces of hemlock bark.
