Adrian Oktenberg (1947-2014) was the author of The Bosnia Elegies, for which she was the recipient of an Astraea Emerging Writers Award and a Barbara Deming Award. Her poetry and criticism appeared in Ploughshares, The Kenyon Review, The American Voice, and The Women's Review of Books. Her collection of poems, Swimming With Dolphins, was published by Bucknell University Press. At the time of her death, she was working on a book about Elizabeth Bishop, and a book about Marlene Dietrich and Greta Garbo.

Sorosis

Adrian Oktenberg worked in the Sorosis studio.

Sorosis Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small, masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
