Alexander Fernandez is a Gensler Design Director and Principal. His global portfolio reflects a mix of project types and scales including master plans, mixed-use developments and retail centers, commercial office buildings and universities. A lifelong learner and educator, Alex has taught design and drawing at several universities in the U.S. and abroad and has received numerous design awards, including a fellowship at MacDowell and the Gabriel Prize, a national research fellowship. Alex earned his Bachelor and Master’s degrees in architecture from Syracuse University’s campuses in New York and Florence, Italy.

New Hampshire Studio, originally named Peterborough Studio, was given to MacDowell by Mr. and Mrs. William Schofield, Mrs. H. A. Chamberlain, Mrs. Andrew Draper, and Miss Ruth Cheney.
