Alexander Lumans was awarded a 2018 NEA Grant in Fiction. He has been a Philip Roth Resident at Bucknell University and a 2015 Arctic Circle Residency Fellow. His work has received support from the Yaddo Colony, the Arteles Creative Center in Finland, the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, Jentel, ART:OMI, VCCA, Brush Creek, among others, as well as scholarships to Sewanee and Bread Loaf His prose has appeared in Electric Literature, Paris Review, Gulf Coast, TriQuarterly, Story Quarterly, among others. He teaches at the University of Colorado Denver and at Lighthouse Writers Workshop.

Sorosis Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small, masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
