Alexandra Kleeman is the author of the novels You Too Can Have A Body Like Mine, Intimations, and Something New Under the Sun, which was named a New York Times Notable Book of 2021. She has received fellowships and awards from the Guggenheim Foundation, American Academy in Rome, American Academy in Berlin, and Bard College. She is an assistant professor at the New School and a contributing writer at New York Times Magazine.

While in residence, Kleeman worked on her fourth book, a novel in five novellas set on different islands, tracing the rise and fall of systems of monetization and exchange.

Sorosis

Alexandra Kleeman worked in the Sorosis studio.

Sorosis Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small, masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
