Amy Garofano is a graduate from Cranbrook Academy of Art. While at MacDowell, she developed a body of work that uses upholstery techniques to think about form and interior spaces. Her exhibits include "A pointed finger draws the line" (2018), "For All Intensive Purposes" (2018), "Martel Window Project: Amy Garofano" (2017), and "Suncakes" (2016).

Amy Garofano worked in the Heinz studio.
The icehouse, built of fieldstone in 1914–1915, was a practical part of Marian MacDowell’s plan for a self-sufficient farm.
