Amy Schleunes is a writer, editor, and teacher based in Mexico City. She holds an M.F.A. in creative nonfiction from the University of Iowa, where she was also a member of the Iowa Playwrights’ Workshop. Her stories and essays have appeared in The Missouri Review, Seneca Review, Fourth Genre, and other literary journals, and her plays have been featured at the Great Plains Theater Conference and the Iowa New Play Festival. She is currently at work on a novel, for which she was awarded fellowships by MacDowell, the Edward F. Albee Foundation, and the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts.

Amy Schleunes worked in the Sorosis studio.
Sorosis Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small, masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
