Andres Carlstein worked an historical novel about a Scottish immigrant boy abducted by a gaucho in 1850s Argentina. Carlstein was an Iowa Arts Fellow at the Iowa Writers Workshop. His book Odyssey to Ushuaia recounts a year-long trip he took from New York to Argentina on a motorcycle.

The Helen Coolidge Mansfield Studio was donated by graduates of the Mansfield War Service Classes for Reconstruction Aides. Helen Mansfield helped found the New York MacDowell Club.
