Andy Kirshner is an American composer, performer, writer, and media artist. He holds a doctorate in music composition from the University of Michigan where he is an assistant professor jointly appointed by the School of Art and Design and the School of Music. He has produced a number of music-theater works, a science fiction interdisciplinary work, an opera-oratorio, an operetta, and has directed multiple films. He currently lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan with his wife, sculptor and installation artist Stephanie Rowden.

Chapman

Andy Kirshner worked in the Chapman studio.

Chapman Studio was funded by Mrs. Alice Woodrough Chapman in memory of her husband, composer George Alexander Chapman. Symmetrically massed, the building is stuccoed on the exterior with a natural, unpainted cement. Its unusual half-timbered ornament consists of slender, knotty spruce poles painted a dark green color. A central, peak-roofed entrance porch appears on the north side…
