Arthur Kreiger has been composing for nearly four decades and his works have been performed worldwide. He has written pieces for orchestra, chorus, mixed chamber ensembles, solo instruments, and the electronic medium. His honors included the Rome Prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a MacDowell Fellowship, and commissions from the Fromm Foundation, the Koussevitzy Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and The Composers Conference at Wellesley. He is also the recipient of the 1993 Brandeis University Creative Arts Medal. Krieger has held teaching positions at Connecticut College, Harvard, New York University, Baruch College, Rutgers, and Columbia. He currently lives with his wife, Diane, on Moosup Pond in Connecticut.

Van Zorn (formerly Kirby)
Arthur Kreiger worked in the Van Zorn (formerly Kirby) studio.
Constructed thanks to a bequest from Sarah L. Kirby, Kirby Studio was the last new building to be erected during Mrs. MacDowell’s leadership (1907-1951).
