Ayokunle Falomo is a Nigerian poet and TEDx speaker, winner of the 2018 Stacy Doris Memorial Award and author of two self-published books – KIN.DREAD and thread, this wordweaver must! His work can be found in print (Local Houston Magazine, Glass Mountain, Berkeley Poetry Review, etc.) and online (The New York Times, Houston Chronicle, Houston Public Media, Write About Now, Mantra Review, etc.).

At MacDowell, he wrote and edited poems that are part of an overarching project that's concerned with the intersection of memory and history (personal, national, global, mythological, etc.), especially in the context of the colonial heritage of Nigeria. Additionally the time at MacDowell was spent researching these themes.

Mansfield

Ayokunle Falomo worked in the Mansfield studio.

The Helen Coolidge Mansfield Studio was donated by graduates of the Mansfield War Service Classes for Reconstruction Aides. Helen Mansfield helped found the New York MacDowell Club. The small, shingled frame structure with stone foundation was originally fronted on the west side by a neat white picket fence and gate, a garden, and a stone pathway…
