Bailey Cunningham is a fiction writer. Her stories have been published in places such as Contrary Magazine, Lunch Ticket, and the Journal of Compressed Creative Arts. In 2019 her fiction was awarded first place in the Crazyhorse Crazyshorts! Contest, and she completed a residency at the Millay Colony for the Arts, where she worked on a story collection concerning tropes in violence against women narratives.

During her time at MacDowell, she expanded on this project by working on several pieces of speculative fiction that examine the ways victim-blaming is prevalent in both discourses surrounding violence against women as well as ones concerning contraception and fertility.
