Benjamin Lorr lives in a small apartment in the West Village of Manhattan. For the six years prior to writing Hell-Bent, he taught high school science and sex education in Bushwick, Brooklyn. He currently consults with New York City public schools. At MacDowell he finished a draft of his second book, The Secret Lives of Groceries.
