Betsy Berne is an American author and journalist. She has written for The New Yorker, Vogue, and The New York Times Magazine. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, she is currently a writer/consultant for Calvin Klein. She is currently residing in New York City. Her novel Bad Timing was published by Penguin Random House in 2001.

Chapman

Betsy Berne worked in the Chapman studio.

Chapman Studio was funded by Mrs. Alice Woodrough Chapman in memory of her husband, composer George Alexander Chapman. Symmetrically massed, the building is stuccoed on the exterior with a natural, unpainted cement. Its unusual half-timbered ornament consists of slender, knotty spruce poles painted a dark green color. A central, peak-roofed entrance porch appears on the north side…
