Carol Heimburg Yeh (1955-1994) was born in Lackawanna, New York, and she received her B.A. degree from Smith College in 1961 and her M.A. from the University of Iowa in printmaking in 1966. Yeh also attended the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris and Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid.
She was a fellow at Yaddo and at MacDowell in 1972, a Junior Fulbright Researcher in Printmaking in Spain (1966-67) and Senior Fulbright Researcher in Printmaking in Mexico (1983). Yeh exhibited continuously since the mid-1960’s. Her works are in numerous private and public collections.

Cheney Studio was given to MacDowell by Mrs. Benjamin P. Cheney and Mrs. Karl Kauffman. Like Barnard Studio, Cheney is a low, broadly massed bungalow.
