Carrie Schneider is an artist working in photography, film, video, and installation. She has exhibited and screened her work worldwide including at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Finnish Museum of Photography in Helsinki, Galería Alberto Sendros in Buenos Aires, santralistanbul in Istanbul, Kunsthal Charlottenborg in Copenhagen, Pérez Art Museum in Miami, and MASS MoCA, among other venues.

Schneider has received a Creative Capital Award, a Fulbright Fellowship, and has attended the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture and the Whitney Museum of American Art’s Independent Study Program. Her current work continues a nearly twenty-five-year investigation of chromogenic photo paper.

Cheney Studio was given to MacDowell by Mrs. Benjamin P. Cheney and Mrs. Karl Kauffman. Like Barnard Studio, Cheney is a low, broadly massed bungalow. Sited on a steep westward slope, its porches are supported on wooden posts and fieldstone with lattices.
