Poet Catherine Wing was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and attended Brown University before earning her M.F.A. from the University of Washington. Her collections of poetry include Enter Invisible (2005), nominated for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and Gin & Bleach (2012). Her poetry has appeared in such journals as Poetry, the Nation, and the Chicago Review and has been featured in a number of anthologies, including Best American Poetry (2010). Wing has received fellowships and residencies from Yaddo, MacDowell , and the Sewanee Writers’ Conference and teaches poetry at Kent State.

At MacDowell, Catherine finished her second book of poems, Gin & Bleach, which was published in 2012 by Sarabande. Her first book, Enter Invisible, was nominated for a 2005 Los Angeles Times Book Prize.

Catherine Wing worked in the New Jersey studio.

The yellow clapboard New Jersey Studio, located on a grassy, sloping site, was funded by the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs and built as an exact replica of Monday Music Studio (1913).
