Celeste Fichter holds an M.F.A. in Photography and Related Media from the School of the Visual Arts in New York. She has had solo exhibitions at the Point of Contact Gallery at Syracuse University, Go North Gallery (Beacon, NY), PH Gallery (New York), and the Boyden Gallery at St Mary’s College, Maryland. Her work has also been in group exhibitions at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum (Connecticut), Islip Art Museum and the Bronx Museum of Art and reviewed in the New York Times and the Village Voice.

Her mixed media work includes video, photography, installation and artists books and is focused on language, humor and word play.


Studios

Heinz

Celeste Fichter worked in the Heinz studio.

The icehouse, built of fieldstone in 1914–1915, was a practical part of Marian MacDowell’s plan for a self-sufficient farm.
