Chris Wright received his B.F.A. from the Pacific Northwest College of Art and his M.F.A. from Pratt Institute. Wright currently teaches at Pratt Institute, and the 92nd Street Y in New York. Wright is a 2015 fellow in painting from the New York Foundation for the Arts and has had one-person shows at the George Billis Gallery in New York City and Los Angeles and the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge in Queens, New York. His work has been shown at Cal State Fullerton, Hampden Gallery, UMass Amherst, and the Martin Art Gallery, Muhlenberg College. His work has appeared in the following publications: New American Paintings, New York Spaces Magazine, and American Art Collector. Wright’s works on paper are included in the Pierogi Flat Files, New York City.
In residence, he made three large-scale paintings from photos, video,s and painted sketches he made while traveling through the western national parks during the fall of 2019.
