Coryn Brown is a fiction writer completing a debut collection of short stories that peels open the lives of black girls and women as they box with the side effects of trauma. She is a 2019 Tin House Summer Workshop scholar, a 2019 Emerging Writers fellow for the Center for Fiction, a 2018 Jack Jones Literary Arts fiction fellow and a 2015 VONA fiction workshop alumna.

At MacDowell, she edited several short stories and began a draft of a new story for her debut collection. She was also notified that she made the final selection pool for an artist's grant from the Elizabeth George Foundation for 2020.
