Cynthia Daignault worked on a series of paintings exploring formalism in new media and a book on Paul McCarthy's Heidi. She is art editor of Last Exit Magazine, associate director of the Felix Gonzalez-Torres Foundation and a senior researcher for the catalogue raisonné of Robert Motherwell through the Dedalus Foundation. Her work has been exhibited at Plane Space, New York and Glenn Horowitz, East Hampton, and elsewhere. She spends her free time playing old-time banjo.

The icehouse, built of fieldstone in 1914–1915, was a practical part of Marian MacDowell’s plan for a self-sufficient farm.
