Daniel Swift is from London but lives in Brooklyn, NY. His first book, Bomber County, was published in August 2010 and was longlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize and the Guardian First Book award, and his essays and reviews have appeared in the New York Times, the New Statesman, and Harper’s. While at MacDowell, he worked on two projects: one on Shakespeare, and the other on Berryman.

Sorosis Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small, masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
