In residence, Daniel continued working on a series of plien-aire and still-life paintings. He also started a large abstract painting and completed many ink drawings.

New Hampshire Studio, originally named Peterborough Studio, was given to MacDowell by Mr. and Mrs. William Schofield, Mrs. H. A. Chamberlain, Mrs. Andrew Draper, and Miss Ruth Cheney.
