Danielle Lessovitz graduated from Northwestern with degrees in film studies and international studies with a focus on documentary film. She recieved an M.F.A. from Tisch School of the Arts, NYU with a focus on film directing and cinematography. Her work has screened at over 40 international film festivals including Torino International Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand, Trinidad and Tobago, and Rooftop Films. She has participated in group exhibitions at MOCADA, Delaware Center For Contemporary Arts, ArtSpace, and the Painted Bride Gallery and has directed work in countries such as Ecuador, Brazil, Italy, and Mali. In 2013, she was honored with a New Filmmaker award from Philadelphia Jewish Film Society.

Danielle Lessovitz worked in the Putnam studio.

The Graphics Studio (as it was originally named) was converted to its present use in 1972–1974 through a grant from the Putnam Foundation, and originally served the property as both a power house and pump house.
