David Hansen's stories have appeared in Fence, Conjunctions, Puerto del Sol, Chicago Review, Fairy Tale Review, Harvard Review, and elsewhere. He has a Master’s from Washington University in St. Louis, and he teaches fiction at the University of Rochester.
During his time at MacDowell, Hansen worked on a series of 100 micro fictions about bad men.

Built
in 1912, Pine Studio was renamed MacDowell Studio in 1943 in
recognition of support from a group of Edward MacDowell’s music
students. It was built as a composers’ studio and the stuccoed
walls were intended to be soundproof.
