David Kechley developed works for solo violin, solo cello, and solo piano as part of a compact disc project called At the Dragon's Gate. His work has been recognized by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, National Endowment for the Arts, and the Guggenheim Foundation.

David Kechley worked in the Veltin studio.
Veltin Studio was donated by alumni of the Veltin School, a school for girls in New York with a highly respected visual arts department.
