David Koblitz is a composer who has written works for orchestra, chamber ensemble, and solo instruments. He has also written electronic music, dance scores, and music for film and television. Koblitz is recipient of grants and fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, The National Academy/Institute of Arts and Letters, MacDowell, and the National Endowment for the Arts. His compositions have been performed by numerous groups across the country, including Joffrey Ballet.

Van Zorn (formerly Kirby)

David Koblitz worked in the Van Zorn (formerly Kirby) studio.

Constructed thanks to a bequest from Sarah L. Kirby, Kirby Studio was the last new building to be erected during Mrs. MacDowell’s leadership (1907-1951).
