Dawnie Walton is a writer and editor based in Brooklyn, NY. During her residency at the MacDowell in September and October 2015, she continued work on her debut novel, The Final Revival of Opal & Nev (37 Ink, 2021), a fictional oral history about the rise and fall of an interracial rock & roll duo in early-1970s New York, and the dark secret that comes to light when they consider reuniting in 2016. Her career in media has included editorial executive roles at such titles as Essence, Entertainment Weekly, and LIFE.com.
