Deborah Voigt's success as an internationally recognized operatic soprano has been her calling card for nearly 20 years. Known as a Wagner and Strauss specialist, the American-born singer has broadened her repertoire in recent seasons to include such iconic Italian roles as Tosca, Gioconda, and Fanciulla del West. While she worked on projects which depart dramatically from her usual turns on the operatic stage, she also dutifully prepared her first Brunnhilde in a production of Richard Wagner's masterpiece, Der Ring des Nibelungen, which she performed at the Metropolitan Opera in the spring of 2011.
