Diana O'Hehir (1922-2021) was a poet and writer of prose from northern California. Her award winning work includes six volumes of poetry and five novels. O’Hehir’s novel, I Wish This War Were Over, on which she worked during her 1983 residency, was shortlisted for a Pulitzer. Her three most recent novels, Murder Never Forgets
(2005), Erased fromMemory (2006), and Dark Aura (2007) are mystery novels featuring a young woman and her Alzheimers-afflicted father.

Marian MacDowell funded construction of this studio the year that the
organization was established and the first artists arrived for
residency. It was called Bark Studio until 1933, when it was renamed
