Don Boes is an American poet and author. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky. He received his B.A. from Centre College and his M.F.A. from Indiana University. Don has been awarded three Al Smith fellowships from the Kentucky Arts Council. He has also been a resident at MacDowell and the Ragdale Foundation. His poetry appears in two recent anthologies: What Comes Down To Us: 25 Contemporary Kentucky Poets published by University of Kentucky Press and Bigger Than They Appear: Very Short Poems published by Accents Publishing. He teaches at Bluegrass Community and Technical College.

Funded by Alpha Chi Omega, a national fraternity founded in 1885, Star Studio — built in 1911–1912 — was the first studio given to the residency by an outside organization.
