Edward Porter's short fiction has appeared in Glimmer Train, the Gettysburg Review, the Hudson Review, Colorado Review, Barrelhouse, Catamaran, Best New American Voices, and elsewhere. He is a former Madison Fellow and Stegner Fellow. He is the recent recipient of a grant from the Elizabeth George Foundation.

At MacDowell, he completed revisions on his short story collection The Changing Station as well as finished an essay on mental health and gentrification.

Edward Porter worked in the New Jersey studio.

The yellow clapboard New Jersey Studio, located on a grassy, sloping site, was funded by the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs and built as an exact replica of Monday Music Studio (1913).
