She worked as a film executive, producer and screenwriter, in NY, LA and London before publishing her first novel, The True & Outstanding Adventures of the Hunt Sisters. It was a New York Times best seller has been translated into twelve languages.

The Helen Coolidge Mansfield Studio was donated by graduates of the Mansfield War Service Classes for Reconstruction Aides. Helen Mansfield helped found the New York MacDowell Club.
