Elizabeth Hoffman is a composer who works in electroacoustic and acoustic media. While at MacDowell, she worked on an interactive live electronics composition for percussionist Patti Cudd utilizing exclusively the Peruvian cajón. Hoffman isparticularly drawn to timbral specificity as a structural element in music but is also explored the multicultural implications prompted by this project.

Van Zorn (formerly Kirby)
Elizabeth Hoffman worked in the Van Zorn (formerly Kirby) studio.
Constructed thanks to a bequest from Sarah L. Kirby, Kirby Studio was the last new building to be erected during Mrs. MacDowell’s leadership (1907-1951).
