Erin Courtney is a playwright from Brooklyn, NY. She was writing a play about a California ghost town and she also worked on a musical, with the composer Rick Burkhardt, about a hoarder. She makes drawings sometimes, teaches playwriting at Brooklyn College, and was a Guggenheim Fellow.

Erin Courtney worked in the Mixter studio.
Built in 1927–1930, the Florence Kilpatrick Mixter Studio was funded by its namesake and designed by the architect F. Winsor, Jr., who also designed MacDowell's original Savidge Library in 1925.
