Eugene Uman is director of the Vermont Jazz Center. He is a pianist, a composer, and an educator who has encouraged hundreds of students to realize their musical dreams. Uman’s compositions merge the vocabulary of jazz with the edge of rock and the inspiration of Colombian folkloric rhythms.
