Evan Antonellis received his doctor of music from Manhattan School of Music in 2012. While at MacDowell, he worked on his thesis, a chamber concerto for pianist Linda Wang. His previous work for Wang was awarded a BMI Student Composer Award in 2009.

Evan Antonellis worked in the Sprague-Smith studio.
In January of 1976, the original Sprague-Smith Studio — built in 1915–1916 and funded by music students of Mrs. Charles Sprague-Smith of the Veltin School — was destroyed by fire.
