Fatima Farheen Mirza is a graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop. She has been awarded the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Creative Achievement from UC Riverside as well as a fellowship from the Michener-Copernicus Society of America.
In residence, she worked on completing a second draft of her debut novel.

Studio — built in 1911–1912 — was the first studio given to the
residency by an outside organization. To this day, Alpha Chi sorority
