Franz H. Denghausen (died January 1, 1987) studied at the Boston Museum School; and the Child-Walker School of Design. He exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts; The National Academy of Design; The Cincinnati Museum of Fine Arts; The New York World's Fair; The Addison Gallery of Art; the Wadsworth Atheneum of Hartford; the Boston Arts Festival; The Cape Ann Arts Festival; The Rockport Art Association (of which he is a past president) and elsewhere. He was associated with Gallery Seven in Magnolia, and the Chase Gallery in New York.
After specializing for many years in portrait and small sculptures, later in this career he concentrated on kinetic solids.

Mixter
Franz Denghausen worked in the Mixter studio.
Built in 1927–1930, the Florence Kilpatrick Mixter Studio was funded by its namesake and designed by the architect F. Winsor, Jr., who also designed MacDowell's original Savidge Library in 1925.
