Genevieve Hudson is the author of A Little in Love with Everyone (Fiction Advocate, 2018), the story collection Pretend We Live Here (Future Tense Books, 2018), and the forthcoming novel Boys of Alabama (Liveright 2020), which she worked on at MacDowell.

Her writing has been published or is forthcoming in McSweeney's, Catapult, Hobart, Tin House online, Joyland, No Tokens, Bitch, The Rumpus, and other places. Her work has been supported by the Fulbright Program and artist residencies at the Dickinson House, Caldera Arts, and the Vermont Studio Center.

She received an M.F.A. in creative writing from Portland State University, where she occasionally teaches fiction writing and gender studies courses. She splits her time between Portland, OR, and Amsterdam. She received a Fulbright grant in creative writing in 2013 and is a 2019 Lambda literary award finalist.

MacDowell

Genevieve Hudson worked in the MacDowell studio.

Built in 1912, Pine Studio was renamed MacDowell Studio in 1943 in recognition of support from a group of Edward MacDowell’s music students. It was built as a composers’ studio and the stuccoed walls were intended to be soundproof.
