Georgina Beaty’s collection of short stories, The Party is Here, is forthcoming from Freehand Books. Her fiction has been published in The Walrus, New England Review, PRISM, The Puritan, Plenitude, Neon (UK), and The Fiddlehead. She holds an M.F.A. from the University of British Columbia and is a Stegner Fellow in fiction at Stanford from 2020-2022.
She drafted two new short stories and continued work on her novel manuscript at MacDowell.

MacDowell and friends originally named this studio in memory of Anna Baetz, the
nurse who helped care for Edward MacDowell in the waning years of his
life.
With
generous support from the Garland family, the studio was renovated in
2013 and renamed the Peter and Mary Garland Studio. The inward
opening, diamond-pane windows were replaced…
