Hallie Goodman’s writing has appeared in many publications including Hunger Mountain, Glamour Magazine, Condé Nast Traveler, and Redbook Magazine. In addition to MacDowell, she has received fellowships from NYFA MARK and Instar Lodge. Hallie holds a G.E.D. and M.F.A. She co-founded the Volume Reading and Music Series.

During her MacDowell residency, worked toward the completion of her first essay collection, focusing on themes of corporeality, sexual agency, and the capricious subjectivity of appearance. She also completed 50 pages of "Satanic Panic," a highly-researched essay about being a punk-rock teen in small town Montana, during the Satanic ritual abuse rumor-panic of the late 1980s.

Given to the residency by the Monday Music Club of Orange, NJ, Monday Music Studio is sited next to an enormous boulder deposited by glaciers thousands of years ago.
