Hans Thomalla worked on a new orchestra piece for the Munich Philharmonics and an opera, Fremd / Strange, for the Stuttgart Opera. A CD with recordings of his chamber music was released on the WERGO label in Summer 2008.

Given to the residency by the Monday Music Club of Orange, NJ, Monday Music Studio is sited next to an enormous boulder deposited by glaciers thousands of years ago.
