Harrison Kinney (8/16/1921 – 2/9/2019) was a writer, reporter, and editor from Aroostook County, Maine. He graduated from Houlton High School, Phi Beta Kappa from Washington and Lee University, and with a master’s in English literature from Columbia University. Over the course of his career, Kinney worked as a reporter for The New York Magazine, a senior editor of McCall’s Magazine, an executive speech writer with IBM, and a writer on staff of IBM’s Think Magazine. His articles and fiction appear in major publications such as The Saturday Evening Post, Collier’s, McCall’s, Good Housekeeping, Reader’s Digest, American Heritage, and the New York Times Book Review. He has also published a novel, a few of non-fiction works, and several children’s books.

Given to the residency by the Monday Music Club of Orange, NJ, Monday Music Studio is sited next to an enormous boulder deposited by glaciers thousands of years ago.
