Helen DeWitt worked on an Oulipian novel, Sexual Codes of the Europeans. She has published two novels (The Last Samurai and Lightning Rods), and explored ways of bringing Edward Tufte's work on information design to fiction.

Helen DeWitt worked in the Mansfield studio.
The Helen Coolidge Mansfield Studio was donated by graduates of the Mansfield War Service Classes for Reconstruction Aides. Helen Mansfield helped found the New York MacDowell Club.
