Helen Miranda Wilson makes paintings and drawings. She is represented by Lori Bookstein Fine Art in NYC and by the Albert Merola gallery in Provincetown MA.
She went to Barnard College from 1966-67 and the New York Studio School from 1969 to 1971. She has been a visiting artist in many places, over many years, and has taught at the Massachusetts College of Art low-residency graduate program.
She lived in both in NYC and Massachusetts for decades and is now committed to living in one place, in the town she grew up in. She works in her Town's government and has served on nine different municipal boards and committees, specializing in land use. Local regulatory boards are where decisions that affect the environment and society are truly made. That's where the rubber meets the road.
She has been a beekeeper (whose bees survive!) since 1999, keeps chickens and grows much of what is eaten in her household. These skills are as important to her as those she has developed as an artist.
