Hyla Willis is an interdisciplinary artist and longtime member of the subRosa cyberfeminist art collective. She developed a project that used metaphors of domestication and wildness to explore ways in which feminism(s) have been used and misused to both motivate and stagnate societal change.

Hyla Willis worked in the Mixter studio.
Built in 1927–1930, the Florence Kilpatrick Mixter Studio was funded by its namesake and designed by the architect F. Winsor, Jr., who also designed MacDowell's original Savidge Library in 1925.
