Iddo Aharony, a composer of acoustic, electronic, and multimedia-involved music, grew up in Israel and lives in Chicago. His theater-opera work, Oedipus, was premiered at the Israel Festival of Culture in Jerusalem. He worked on a chamber piece revolving around experiences of exile, setting texts by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish along with excerpts from Biblical psalms; and a composition for orchestra inspired by months spent in India.

Chapman Studio was funded by Mrs. Alice Woodrough Chapman in memory of her husband, composer George Alexander Chapman. Symmetrically massed, the building is stuccoed on the exterior with a natural, unpainted cement.
