Isabella Hammad used her time in residence to finish and revise her first novel, The Parisian, set in Palestine during the British Mandate, which would be published in 2019 by Grove Atlantic (US) and Jonathan Cape (UK). She was born in London, and lives in Brooklyn. Her writing has appeared in Conjunctions and The Paris Review.

Mansfield

Isabella Hammad worked in the Mansfield studio.

The Helen Coolidge Mansfield Studio was donated by graduates of the Mansfield War Service Classes for Reconstruction Aides. Helen Mansfield helped found the New York MacDowell Club. The small, shingled frame structure with stone foundation was originally fronted on the west side by a neat white picket fence and gate, a garden, and a stone pathway…
