James Burpee lives and works in Minneapolis where he is represented by Gallery13. His work is in numerous collections in the Twin Cities, as well as in collections from Hawaii to New York and Europe. He has been in national invitational exhibitions and featured in a range of solo and group shows. Burpee has been in residence in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Foundation Karolyi in Vence, France, among other locations, and has been a visiting artist across the country, including at the California College of Arts & Crafts and Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He has been an instructor at the college level since 1960. He is now retired from teaching and is a full-time artist.
